Kay Bazzard runs short courses and workshops that can be geared to any level of experience in working with clay.
She also provides informal mentoring for experienced artists who wish to develop their skills and ideas in clay
Her career background in Adult Learning - Training and Development, gives her experience in what learners/participants need in order to ensure successful results

Guest Tutor for a pottery club or pottery school, or
Tutor to small groups in her own well-equipped studio
Workshops can be from 2 hours to 2 days, depending on the level of complexity.

The human torso
Small figure
Head or bust
Large standing or seated figure
Hand and foot
What you’ll learn:
Hand-building techniques in clay
Human anatomy, expression, likeness and proportion
An understanding of how to handle wet clay and drying through to a successful bisque firing
Surface texture and/or colouration processes

Writing

Since 2014 I’ve been writing for BayBuzz Magazine (Hawke’s Bay news and issues) with articles that primarily focus on local people, gardening and art.
In 2020 Kay was invited to be a contributor to The Gardener’s Journal. TFJ is for readers who love gardens and essays written by knowledgeable gardeners and plant experts. It is A5 sized subscription-only journal.
